Recently, I ventured into the J. McLaughlin store. The window displays informed me that I was about to enter Preppy Land. I'm not a preppy. Not that there's anything wrong with that style! I entered nevertheless. I was on the hunt for some hardworking basics like a nice white shirt, some khaki's and possibly a sweater. The store manager was lovely: helpful without hovering, attentive without being overly aggressive, and informative without being overbearing. One of the pieces I purchased is the sweetheart stripe cotton sweater, $90 (above). Check out the newly launched online store! Where do you get your preppy fix?
